Good news, today Steven Sinofsky announced that Windows 8 will support USB 3.0. According to him by 2015 all the new PCs will provide such support offering the users blazing fast transfer speeds. So how fast it will be? Quite fast- USB 3.0 will offer windows 8 users speeds of 5 GB/s. In other words a movie in HD format now would take you about 15 minutes to transfer through your USB 2.0, compared to little more than a minute for the USB 3.0. Microsoft expects that more than 2 billion USB ultra speed devices would sell in 2015.
“Microsoft USB Test Tool” is developed by Microsoft to see whether a device will be compatible with the new technology.

This invention by Microsoft will change the way you share the data. Now you will be able to share data up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0, that too with reduced power consumption. A file that would take 15 minutes to transfer with USB 2.0 will just take 80 seconds with USB 3.0..
